La Habra Art Association offers workshops to members and the public throughout the year. Check back to see new workshops as they are added to our calendar! Planning and Mixing Color Instructor: Susan Alderson Improve your paintings by using a planned color scheme and developing colors that create unity and harmony in your work. This will be done be learning to mix colors, perfect gray mixtures, and luminous shades or white with as few as three tubes of paint. You will also learn to create different moods with the same subject by using different color schemes. Participants will be given a watercolor notebook in which to work, and to keep for future reference. Techniques will apply to other media. Watercolor paint, for use in class, will also be provided. Pease bring your own brush: a #8 round is recommended. The instructor, Susan Alderson, is an award winning artist and instructor, who has served as a popular juror with critique at our member shows. She is currently the featured artist at the Orange County Fine Arts Gallery in Costa Mesa near South Coast Plaza. Her paintings are on display until April 15th.
