Wayne Tarshis

Wayne Tarshis

While growing up in Pittsburgh , Wayne always was interested in drawing and painting. Throughout his business career, he has enjoyed art as a creative outlet. It wasn't until the late 90s that Wayne became serious about his painting. Mostly a self taught artist, he has studied art at numerous colleges and continues to study privately with professional artists.

With the desire to continue learning about art, he is influenced by the California impressionistic landscape masters.

His subject matter is varied including figurative, floral and still life-however, Wayne 's real love is landscapes and seascapes. His ocean scenes illustrate the sea's active movements while the tranquility of serene landscapes captures his interests. He enjoys the direct connection with nature.

Wayne is passionate about his art. His paintings can be loose and painterly while creating a realistic image. He has painted with watercolors and acrylics but prefers oils as his medium.

Wayne has exhibited in various juried competitions, such as, The Artist Eye, Bear Street Gallery, Art Shoppe Gallery, OC Fair, Huntington Beach Gallery and Guggenheim Gallery at Chapman University . He currently displays at the Showcase Gallery.

His works have been displayed at numerous galleries including Bear Street , Showcase, Art Shoppe, Orange County Fair, Huntington Beach Art Center , Windows Gallery, La Habra , Irvine Fine Art, Guggenheim galleries, etc.

Wayne has been juried in many exhibitions and won numerous awards for his paintings.

Wayne is a member of Orange County Fine Arts, Tustin Art League, Orange Arts Association, Huntington Beach Art League, LaHabra Art Association and Lakewood Art Guild.
