Annual Open Show: La Habra Art Association November Art Festival A Juried Fine Art Exhibition | |||
The Annual Open Show is a juried competition that is open to the public. Art Categories The following categories are open for entry into this year's art festival. LHAA reserves the right to adjust categories to reflect actual entries. Any category with less than 15 entries will not be considered separately.
Art Festival Awards Best of Show: $200 Exhibit Calendar Delivery of Entries: Thursday, Oct 30th through Saturday, November 1st, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Pick-up of Non-selected Work: Friday, November 7th and Saturday, November 8th, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Exhibition Dates: Thursday, November 6th through Sunday, November 30th. Closed Thanksgiving Day. Reception: Saturday, November 8th, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Awards announced at 8 p.m. Pick-up of Exhibited Work: Thursday, December 4th, Friday, December 5th, and Saturday, December 6st, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eligibility & Specifications Competition is open to Southern California Artists. All entries must be original (no copies) and created within the last three years. Work may not have been previously displayed in this show. No work will be accepted that has had hands-on contact by anyone other than the submitting artist. All art must by dry, framed, wired (no sawtooth hangers), and ready to hang. It may not exceed 42 inches horizontally or vertically, including the frame. Works requiring special assembly or installation will not be accepted. The number of entries is not limited, although entry into the jury process does not guarantee acceptance into the show. Entry Fees & Forms La Habra Art Association Members: $10 Entry forms can be obtained at the La Habra Art Association Gallery. All information must be provided on the entry forms legibly and signed by the artist. Each entry requires a separate entry form. Tape the LABEL portion to the top left corner backside of your art. Forms may be reproduced. Additional forms are available on request and at take-in. Packaged bin works must be labeled with artist name and price and be listed on the bin list. Sales/Liability A 25% commission will be retained on all sales based on price listed by the artist. Art not for sale must be clearly marked NFS. Entries will be handled with great care, however the La Habra Art Association and Gallery will not be responsible for any loss or damage. The artist should carry his or her own insurance. Accepted artists may have properly packaged, flat works to display in a bin for additional sales during the exhibit. No work may be removed until the end of the exhibit (with the exception of packaged bin sales art). About the Juror - Gerald Brommer Gerald Brommer is completely involved in art as an innovative watercolor and acrylic painter, collagist, teacher, author and juror. He has won awards in most national competitive watercolor shows and has had over 165 one-man shows in galleries & colleges from Alaska to Florida. He is a Life Member and past President of the National Watercolor Society and is honorary president of the National Association of Painters in Acrylics. His work and articles have appeared in countless books as well as in various art magazines and international publications. His biography is listed in Who's Who in American Art, and in every other biographical listing for artists and influential people in the U.S. |
